In Design for Social Activism, a class taught at Cornish, we were asked to create a self-lead project that combined a non-profit and a holiday of our choosing. I chose to do Voices of Children, which is a non-profit in Ukraine that provides psychological and psychosocial support to children (and their families) who suffered as a result of war operations. Through art therapy, storytelling, and mobile psychology access, Voices of Children helps bring peace to children and their parents. The holiday I chose to pair with Voices of Children is New Year's– a widely celebrated holiday in Eastern Europe. With these two factors in mind, I decided to create an activity book that can be enjoyed by the children, and hopefully bring some light to their holiday season in the midst of tragedy.
